August 22nd, Saint Petersburg, FL: University of South Florida St. Petersburg Freshman Orientation
NFDM Education Coordinator, Marlene S. Ware, and Public Policy Director, Vern Farnsworth, will present Financial Literacy for Freshmen: Avoiding the Pitfalls, for University of South Florida St. Petersburg's (USFSP) incoming Freshman class. This presentation is part of NFDM's ongoing effort to encourage sound personal financial habits amongst America's youth.
USFSP will enroll 400+ freshmen students, this Fall, representing nearly every state. The NFDM event is designed to help students consider their financial well being and make smart choices about money, as they move into college life and toward their own financial independence.
NFDM has worked with schools, community groups, churches, charitable organizations and others to help people learn skills from the most basic to more advanced. The presentation of Financial Literacy for Freshmen, for USFSP, is a demonstration of the commitment that both of these organizations make toward the development of personal finance skill.
Financial Literacy for Freshmen is one of many NFDM events on the cutting edge of the growing movement to provide a more comprehensive understanding of financial matters to consumers across the United States.
Marlene S. Ware is a veteran school teacher from upper New York state, where she served as Senior Advisor. Since 2005, Ware has been an active member of NFDM's team of counselors and educators.
Vern Farnsworth is a member of the Business School Advisory Board, at University of South Florida St. Petersburg. He has lectured most recently to the school's Graduate Class, on entrepreneurship.
